FiND

Personalised support at all times

FiND Cottingham Day Service

We believe that our students should receive fully tailored support, as this way each individual is given every opportunity to access what they need to grow and thrive. To achieve this, individual plans are shaped around each person’s wants, needs, hobbies and interests. Popular examples include visiting places of interest, developing life skills such as shopping and meal preparation, swimming, accessible bikes, horse riding, creative workshops, and much more. Students also spend time together socialising, making new friends, building relationships and taking part in social opportunities.

Dignity is a cornerstone of FiND

Everyone who uses our Cottingham Day Service is treated with respect and given the same opportunities for self-development and self-expression as anyone else. This enables our students to live safe, healthy and happy lives as part of their local community, as well as develop and maintain valuable relationships with others.

There’s always something fun to do

FiND Cottingham Day Service is based in a purpose-built and fully accessible building, with an accessible kitchen, track hoists, sensory room, and large open-plan facilities for socialising, with some quieter spaces to relax. Located at the heart of the Cottingham community next to the train station, Cottingham Day Service also has a beautiful sensory garden.

We also work hard to provide a wide range of days out by linking with multiple community organisations and local businesses. These include sensory-based experiences and day trips to all kinds of places, such as arts venues, garden centres, green spaces, and many other locations that will spark curiosity and bring our students joy.

Dedicated keyworkers

The FiND team is made up of dedicated keyworkers who are highly experienced and trained in supporting students with complex needs. Support is offered in line with students’ needs at a level of either one member of staff to two students, one member of staff to one student, or two members of staff to one student.

This adaptability and strong focus on personalisation reflects our dedication to never giving up on people and developing excellent relationships between our keyworkers and students.

My Plan

Every student is provided with a My Plan, which works to understand who our students really are, what they want to achieve in life, and how they want to do it.

We regularly review this plan to make sure we’re getting it right and involve people who matter most to our students. Examples include carers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and other agencies such as adult social care and CTLD.

Thanks to this high level of personalisation and attention to detail, we help our students to live happy and meaningful lives.
